enevex® R18 Rims Protection “Matt”
enevex® R18 Rims Protection “Matt” is a highly durable surface coating for wheels on all types of vehicles. It provides optimal protection for painted and unpainted wheel surfaces with a satin finish. enevex® R18 Rims Protection “Matt” is also heat-resistant up to +1050°C. The product cannot be removed by conventional cleaning agents and protects even against damage caused by spilled brake fluid. enevex® R18 Rims Protection “Gloss” is very flexible up to a coating thickness of 8 µm, making it impossible to crack or peel. Areas of application: Chrome wheels, painted and powder-coated wheels, matte finishes.
Properties:
- Permanent protection
- Very high hydrophobic properties
- Car wash resistant
- Resistant to cleaning agents (pH 2 – 13)
- UV & environment-resistant
- Easy-to-clean
- Excellent shine & color depth
- Temperature resistant from -50°C to +1050°C
Application:
- Clean the surface with enevex® AT10 Special Cleaner and then neutralize with enevex® Pre-Cleaner.
- Place the application cloth over the applicator.
- Drop 12 – 18 drops of enevex® R18 Rims Protection “Matt” onto the application cloth and quickly distribute it over the surface (a visible film must form). Work in small sections (max. 50 x 50cm).
- Allow the product to flash off for 1 – 3 minutes! (This time depends on the amount applied, humidity, and ambient temperature). The longer the product reacts on the surface, the higher the layer build-up, protection, and hydrophobic effect.
- Remove excess product with the first enevex® CT23 Ceramic Towel (start with the edges and then work in straight, quick movements from the outside to the inside).
- Use a fresh enevex® CT23 Ceramic Towel to polish the surface (start with the edges and then move in circular motions from the outside to the inside without applying too much pressure).
- If streaks are still visible, take another fresh enevex® CT23 Ceramic Towel and repeat the process until the streaks are no longer visible (check with a light source).
- Re-coating with enevex® R18 Rims Protection “Matt” is possible after 20 minutes. Do not wait longer than 35 minutes
- The product can also be applied using a fine spray method. For this, you need clean, dry, and oil-free compressed air. Contaminated compressed air can cause a premature reaction of the product, causing treated surfaces to become matte and rough. Caution: Do not apply directly in the sun. Protect the product from direct sunlight and frost.
Lifetime:
A single layer of enevex® R18 Rims Protection “Matt” lasts about 30 – 36 months (hand wash). Each additional layer increases the service life by an additional 10 months. To achieve a longer protection period, you can apply the product using the fine spray method and let it dry. This results in a dry coating thickness of about 3 – 5µm. Note: Permanent cleaning in car washes reduces the service life of the coating because the strong abrasive action of the brushes slowly wears down the product and scratches it. Weatherproof after: 18 – 24 hours Fully cured after: 9 – 10 days pH resistance: pH 2 – 13
Consumption | 3 – 6 ml / m² |
Application temperature: | +15°C ile + 35°C |
Weatherproof: | After 18 to 24 hours |
Fully cured: | After 9-10 days |
Storage and shelf life: | 12 months at ambient temperature in tightly sealed original container stored upright |
pH resistance: | pH 2 – 13 |
Areas of use | Cars, Motorbikes, Caravans, Buses and Vans |
Note after use: Coating products need some time to bond with the surface and fully cure after application. Surfaces treated with sealing products should always be cleaned as gently as possible to avoid damaging or even removing the product. Avoid using strong cleaning agents with a high pH value or a high content of solvents. We recommend cleaning with a pH-neutral shampoo.
